YouTube Partners gets Free Nexus One?
If you want a chance to win a Free Nexus One be sure to enter our contest. But apparently another way to get one is by being a popular YouTube Partner? According to one of the YouTube Partners, Val’s Art Diary -- she got a Free Nexus One along with a note saying:
Dear YouTube Partners,
We’re pleased to present you with this gift of a Nexus One phone, the new Google-branded mobile device sold only online at google.com/phone. There are no strings attached, it’s just our gift to you for being such an important part of the YouTube Partner Program.
From the sound of it, it appears that every YouTube partner is getting one for free. But it could just be the top bunch.
We'll update this post if anything new comes out of this.

That seems a little unfair. My wife just washed my G1 in my jeans the other day and now I have to use some 10 year old Samsung backup phone while I scrape together pennies in hopes that I can purchase a Nexus One sometime in the next few months and popular YouTubers are getting them for free. :(

seems like the partner program is tricky to get into... from youtube, "Applications are reviewed for a variety of criteria, including but not limited to the size of your audience, country of residence, quality of content, and consistency with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use."

Brilliant marketing strategy.
It is one of the pretiest smart phones in the market ! And we do know, that everything related with google works fine, so... I would love to have one...
People related to telecommunications had great expectations from Nexus one but i think its marketing technique was not right. Such phone should have been advertised properly on TV channels and internet but until now, we can't see its add on even google's main page.
...so the really popular crowd with boatloads of cash (who can afford the phone) get one? Never thought life was going to simply be an extension of high school!

Ima youtube partner (not a big 1) and I still haven't received a nexus one or any type of thanx. I still have hope tho!
My sincere hope is that I can get a free Nexus One. I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to win one for use in my VERY small company, as lending to business is non-existent and I can't afford one. Perhaps some day, I will be a success, receive a phone and am able to use the a Nexus One and Google's free software and app options to grow my business.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure that you won't get those cellphones for free.
That would have been nice to receive. You're probably right about only the top bunch being gifted these. Getting stuff for free would make anyone happy. Bonus to YouTube if the partners talk about it.
